Stock: 1.2 million books, 92,113 e-books, 45,000 inter-library loans, 800 user workspaces, 1,634 print journal subscriptions and 28,281 licensed electronic journals; Services: Wuppertal university library, founded in 1972, supplies the University of Wuppertal with the books, journals and other media required for teaching, research and study. Approx. 600,000 users and visitors use around 3.3 million media items every year.

Foreign language center and courses

There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, German as a Foreign Language, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Arabic, Dutch. German Sign Language. As long as the framework conditions and the services provided are comparable, language courses can theoretically be taken at all other universities and then submitted to us for recognition.

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Participation is subject to fees. The Bergische Universität Wuppertal (BUW) was recognised by the adh as "University of the Year 2017" for its offers and its commitment in the field of university sports. Choice of more than 70 sports from trend, leisure, health and competitive sports; Fitness centre with spacious training areas directly on the campus; Annual sports events, such as the UniSport Campus Festival, the UniLauf run and various tournaments; A variety of exercise-oriented health activities (including active break). The BUW is a partner university for top sports.
