Participation in the general university sports programmes of other universities is subject to their respective regulations. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. A special feature of the sports programme at Chemnitz University of Technology is the university-internal fitness studio (ZFG) in the new sports hall complex, which was newly equipped in 2025. There are also attractive programmes through partnerships with external providers and partners, including the climbing centre, Chemnitz bouldering lounge, Club Nautique Leipzig (sailing) and the Golfclub Wasserschloss Klaffenbach. Built in 2024/25, the new sports hall structure opens up new possibilities, such as the use of the university’s own climbing and bouldering space and a large gymnastics and dance hall with ceiling rails for e.g. aerial yoga.
