Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Students are supported individually, especially in the initial study phase. Students can opt for one of the five specialisations in the main study stage after completing standard basic studies. The degree course is very practice-oriented: Projects are already carried out in the first semester, the course content is taught in a practice- and application-oriented manner in numerous laboratory courses, and students complete a practical semester and Bachelor's thesis in industry. Students appreciate the personal atmosphere in the faculty. Support services with learning centres.

Special features regarding teaching in the master's programmes

Students can choose one of the five specialisations. The degree course is scientifically oriented. The students are involved in the ongoing research projects of the faculty. Students appreciate the personal atmosphere in the faculty.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) is part of the European University INGENIUM. The Faculty of Electrical and Information Technology offers a number of opportunities to gain experience abroad during your studies: Double degree programme with INSA in Strasbourg (France), double degree programme (Master's) with Metropolitan University in Toronto (Canada), semester abroad in Timisoara (Romania), double degree (Master's) with VIT University in India (SSTM), Lawrence Berkeley Lab in California (USA), exchange programme with the University of Alabama (USA). Bachelor International as a study option.

Special features regarding the equipment

The laboratories are excellently equipped and meet industry standards. During the laboratory activities, practical skills are taught that not only help students to get an idea of​the practical application but prepare them for their future careers as well. Highlights include the high-voltage laboratory, automation engineering and robotics laboratory, and numerous laboratories in the natural sciences. Students have access to the technical equipment of the research institutes via the research projects.
