Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

The faculty has always retained the Dipl.-Ing. degree. Despite the internationally recognised degree, the degree course is structured and modified according to the requirements of the Bologna Process and is therefore compatible with other universities across Europe. Despite an increase in student numbers, the ratio of students to teachers is good, so there is still room for independent learning above all during practicals. The degree courses in Civil Engineering are also offered as part-time distance learning, which enables flexible learning with regard to time and location.

Special features regarding the international orientation

In addition to the worldwide study offer for distance learning (Bachelor's and postgraduate Diploma degree courses), there is an English-language Master's degree programme (ACCESS - Advanced Computational and Civil Engineering Structural Studies). There is also the possibility of obtaining a double diploma [ESTP Paris, INSA Strasbourg, Università di Trento (Italy)]. Extensive digital courses (videos, etc.) and open access.

Special features regarding the equipment

The faculty's labs are equipped with state of the art equipment, which enables excellent research. The students and students can use this equipment for their work.

Special features regarding research activities

The faculty is represented in numerous international research projects and committees. The latest research findings are integrated into lectures and exercises. Students can participate in projects and be part of the research. Special research in the fields of "Carbon Concrete", "Automated and Networked Construction", "LAB Living Art of Building", "Digital Twin Street", etc. Application for a building-specific Cluster of Excellence (CARE). TU Dresden is the university with the most patents in Germany.

Other special features

Concrete boat team (construction of concrete boats and regular participation in regattas); The "Campus Navigator", which is unique in Germany; Event series "SustainAbility: Understanding & Implementing Sustainability" (Green Office); Sustainability strategy of TU Dresden; Green Campus campaign (tree sponsorships,; campus bees), etc.
