Special features regarding the international orientation

At the Minden Campus, there are regular informational events for students about "Work placements and studies abroad" by the Foreign Students Office. The International Office in Bielefeld is open to all students for guidance on short visits, work placements and foreign programmes.

Special features regarding the equipment

The Minden campus has a woodworking shop and modern CAD laboratories. The studio located in the attic of the main building offers a generous work space. Project work and theses are exhibited in the foyer.

Special features regarding research and development

The department is involved in application-oriented research and development. The research focuses offered are: Construction design for disabled and elderly residents, smart building technologies, intelligent energy networks and innovation management. The new building of the Minden Campus has a geothermal system and building automation. It is the second university building in Germany that meets the requirements of Energy Efficiency Class A thanks to intelligent, computer-aided building technology. The new building is used for research.

Other special features

Our students value the small size of the campus, the personal atmosphere and the individual guidance offered by professors, assistant professors and staff. The department offers excellently equipped laboratories and modern, well-equipped rooms with modern IT in a fully renovated artillery barracks.
