At Hamburg Vocational University (BHH), dual vocational training and a Bachelor's degree are interlinked. The idea is that the three learning locations are of equal value: Demanding practical skills in the company, broad knowledge of the entire professional field in the vocational school, academic competencies in the university. This close interlinking reduces duplication and allows for two qualifications in four years. Accompanied by coaching, students decide after 18 months at the latest whether to continue along the path to the dual qualification or to only complete the vocational training.

Together with the Hamburg Institute for Vocational Education and Training (HIBB), we are carrying out a project to build up quality management. The model project "Quality Assurance of Hybrid Training Offers" is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the competition "Creating the future - Innovations for excellent vocational education and training (InnoVET)". The aim is a trial quality management system (tQM).
