Solid, hands-on fundamental training in digital electronics, microcontrollers, FPGA, programming languages, automation, operating systems and networks. Stand-alone module introducing the professional field/ engineering informatics. Learn and apply problem solving methods in the areas of embedded systems and software development. Possibilities for individual profile formation; high practical relevance (industry certificate); interdisciplinarity (e.g. bio-mechatronics, parallel computer systems).

The Department of Engineering and Mathematics is characterised by extensive activities in the field of applied research in close cooperation with local industry, but also in the field of basic research in cooperation with other universities and research institutions. The high level of applied research supports the attractiveness and practical relevance of teaching.

Support for founders

The Bielefeld Initiative for Start-Ups is a partnership of Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of East Westphalia in Bielefeld. This initiative has offered lectures on start-up-relevant topics since the 2014/15 winter semester. There are also monthly start-up consultation days in Bielefeld and Minden: Potential entrepreneurs can obtain individual advice directly on site by Chamber of Commerce and Industry staff.
