Special features regarding the international orientation

The Department of Construction and Environment is actively involved in the formation of a European university alliance (Stars.EU) and manages the DAAD research programme I-Pace for the establishment of BIP and double degrees with partner universities in Europe in the Master's degree programme. Students are given the chance to participate in BIPs.

Special features regarding the equipment

With the Detlef Hegemann Digital Platform, the Department of Construction and Environment provides a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for teaching. Students can access the VDI at any time using thin clients in the department's PC cluster rooms, via their notebooks using the university WiFi network or outside the university via the internet. This means that no special hardware resources are required on students' own computers to run computationally intensive programs, since these processes are carried out by the server.

Other special features

The Department of Construction and Environment has appointed several innovation professorships for the topic of "sustainability" and anchored this in its curriculum.
