Numerous interdisciplinary collaborative projects in which philosophy, the humanities, history and cultural studies conduct joint research from historical and systematic perspectives, e.g. in the Cluster of Excellence EXC 2020 Temporal Communities, in the Collaborative Research Centres Epistemes in Movement, Affective Societies and Intervening Arts, and in the Cinepoetics research group; The research activities link minor and major subjects with one another and are directly incorporated into teaching; The Dahlem Humanities Centre ensures international networking and visibility of research across disciplines.

Other special features

Academics and institutions of the department and the FU Berlin are integrated into a large network of nationally and internationally renowned academics as well as artists and creative professionals, which offers students throughout Germany unique opportunities to get to know the relevant people in everyday university life, for example in lectures organised by the Dahlem Humanities Centre, workshops (including with authors and artists) or lecture series in the "Open Lecture Hall", and to establish contacts.
