Special features regarding the equipment

Computer laboratories; virtual reality system; 3D printer; eye tracker; Mechatronics lab with numerous test setups for electrical machines, programmable logic controllers, image processing right up to micro-processor development boards; various NC machines; Basic Mechanical Engineering labs for Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, right through to Production and Materials Engineering; new modern dynamometer and other diverse IT-supported machines in the area.

Special features regarding research and development

Integration of courses in current research projects, e.g. module research project in the Master of Business Environmental Informatics. Here, students can earn credits by working on a research project on a specific problem.

Is carried out centrally by Career Service/Foundation Office of the HTW. Professors from the department will be involved as appropriate.

Other special features

In addition to the good IT equipment at the faculty, due to the close association with Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering, there is also access to laboratory equipment such as the virtual reality system, 3D printers, NC machines, etc. The relation to practice that is achieved as a result of this provides added value that few Computer Science courses are likely to offer.
