Special features regarding the equipment

In addition to the general IT infrastructure, teaching in Computer Science is supported by a Teaching Lab. For the support of courses, Computer Science provides systems for the electronic submission of homework and systems are used for online communication between course participants. In addition, Computer Science has a Robotics Laboratory and a 3D visualisation lab which is part of the Laboratory for Analysis, Modelling, and Visualisation.

Special features regarding research activities

Research is carried out in the following fields in particular: Machine Learning, Robotics, Scanning Databases, Mathematical Knowledge Management, Visualisation and Computer Graphics, Control Loops and Automation, Computer Networks and Distributed Systems and Imaging Procedures in the field of Medicine. In terms of subject, research activities often have a multi-disciplinary structure and are frequently integrated in terms of organisation in European research projects. The development of prototypes is a significant component of research activities.

Support for founders

As an alternative to the full-time internship, students can apply for the StartUp option. The StartUp option allows students who are particularly interested in starting their own business to focus on developing their business plan over a period of two consecutive months. The StartUp option is overseen by the faculty StartUp coordinator.
