Special features regarding the international orientation

Four international advisers at the faculty and the International Office of the university help students in their search for practice semesters, final dissertations or study periods abroad. The faculty offers an intensive cooperation with STIEI Shanghai regarding an internship abroad in Shanghai / China. Special features regarding the equipment

State-of-the-art labs offer a very high degree of practical relevance, e.g. a hybrid lab (fully equipped for modern electronics production for all production steps, also for printed electronics on textiles), automation technology (cutting-edge production automation): Smart home, security and safety), electric drives (test benches with new motors and inverters, research projects for electromobility), robotics laboratory (especially human-robot collaboration) and others.

Special features regarding research activities

The faculty is involved in four research focus areas: Data and Process Science, Electronics and System Integration, Energy, Production and Logistics Systems. The faculty has its own technology centres in Dingolfing and Ruhstorf an der Rott with a large demonstration plant and extensive labs. In total, more than 10 professors conduct research together with more than 25 predominantly third-party-funded research assistants who intend to obtain a doctorate. Topics include the design of digital transformation, mobility, electricity storage and Industry 4.0.

Support for founders

LINK start-up centre: Contact point for start-ups, company founders and creative people from the region. The services include coaching, advice, contact mediation and matching opportunities. Affordable offices and coworking spaces are also organised.

Other special features

Currently has a strong international orientation (cooperation with universities abroad, student exchange, courses taught in English); Expansion of e-learning; Intensification of cooperative doctoral programmes; Participation in the electric racing team "LA eRacing" possible; WIngLA e.V. (Landshut Industrial Engineering), which currently has 150 members, is one of the largest groups from a higher education institution to be part of the Association of German Industrial Engineers (VWI), providing many subject-specific and inter-disciplinary activities.
