Very well-equipped laboratories: e.g. high-voltage and EMC laboratory, Zentrum für Halbleitertechnik, inkl. Optoelektronik (Centre for Semiconductor Engineering, including Optoelectronics), labs for the subject areas of Materials in Electrical Engineering and Nanostructure Engineering, Communications Engineering laboratories (Communications Engineering Systems, Communications and High Frequency Technology), Plastic Injection Moulding Machine and Extrusion laboratories, Torque Test Benches, Print and Flow laboratories as well as Robotics and Periphery laboratories. In addition, there are several PC workstations, print facilities, PC examination rooms and well-equipped lecture theatres as well as WiFi throughout the campus.

Special features regarding research activities

Subject-specific and inter-disciplinary key areas in the fields of: Products/Production, Energy, Logistics, Automotive, Design, Controlling and Finance; Interdepartmental and inter-disciplinary collaboration in academic and application-based projects. Wing students and graduates are active in purely Engineering sciences, in purely Business Administration and in interdisciplinary projects at UDE chairs.

Support for founders

Successful entrepreneurship programme since 1999 "Small Business Management" (courses on entrepreneurship including preparation of business plans), which is attended regularly by Industrial Engineering students.

Excellent cooperation between students/Industrial Engineering student body and teaching staff as well as programme managers, own permanent position for Industrial Engineering subject-specific guidance and coordination, clear responsibilities, uniform management of study programmes; In addition to the central website for the Industrial Engineering degree courses, the Industrial Engineering newsletter is dispatched regularly (approx. every 14 days) as a central communication tool in close cooperation with the student representatives, the programme managers and the subject advisors
