Special features regarding teaching

Interactive teaching takes place in small groups. All lecturers have comprehensive practical experience, which they bring into the courses. Active learning is encouraged through participation, projects, presentation and other didactic methods.

Special features regarding the international orientation

High proportion of international students (53% in the winter semester 22/23) and lecturers, students from almost 70 nations; International elements in the curriculum of all degree courses, all degree courses (including DBA) can be studied in English only; Compulsory stays abroad (work placement, semester abroad); International double degrees in Master IB, Master IMBM, Master IE and Master SBC.

Special features regarding the equipment

The University is located in a modern, well-equipped building with WiFi availability; all lecture theatres and seminar rooms are equipped with up-to-date projection technology; Teaching materials as well as access to a variety of databases (e.g. EBSCO and Statista) and online media are provided via the Virtual Campus. Furthermore, technical rental equipment, mobile audio/video conferencing systems as well as a number of software licences (e.g. SPSS and NVivo) and online tools (e.g. Miro, Mural, Everskill) are available.

Special features regarding research activities

Research at the University is exclusively application-orientated and integrates the students, especially into the Master’s degree courses.

Support for founders

In the Master Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Master IE) you can advance your own start-up project. In the major (Master IB) International Entrepreneurship, students are prepared specifically for all topics revolving around entrepreneurship: From the idea and development of the business model and search for investors as well as pitch to the establishment and management of a new company; Option to participate in ZGI, the workshop of the Social Entrepreneurship Academy, in cooperation with the university.

Other special features

MBS is actively committed to social, ecological and economic sustainability in a variety of ways and published the MBS Impact Report for the first time in 2022. As a long-standing member of the United Nations-supported PRME initiative, the university also documents its contribution to responsible management training in biennial reports.
