Special features regarding teaching in the bachelor's degree programme

Numerous low-threshold additional learning offerings, such as small group exercises and question sessions. Prior to exams, there are additional discussion hours. The class conference takes place at the end of each semester. The students and all lecturers, in particular those who offer courses at the bachelor's level during the current and following semester, are invited. Bachelor's courses and any problems are discussed at the class conference.

An individual specialisation can be chosen for the master's degree.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Agreement with the University of Western Australia; in October 2017, an agreement was signed between RWTH Aachen University and the Beijing Institute of Technology.

Two computer rooms with a total of 48 workstations; Mathematics library with approx. 96 workstations and an extensive stock of books, current journals and electronic journals, special collection in the area of Didactics of Mathematics and Statistics Library.

Numerous cooperations within and outside the RWTH (with universities and companies); Participation in collaborative research centres such as "Sparsity and Singular Structures" and research training groups such as "Energy, Entropy and Dissipative Dynamics" and DFG CRC/Transregio such as "Symbolic Tools in Mathematics and Their Application", various areas of focus in the Master's degree programme.
