Special features regarding teaching

Centre for legal attorney training: Lawyer-oriented legal education; HeidelPräp!: The Faculty of Law has designed its own extensive programme for exam preparation. "Villa HeidelPräp!": 50 permanent jobs for exam candidates. These places will be allocated individually for 12 months. Small group work rooms, tutors, fireside chat; Heidelberg Basic Certificate (HGZ); Heidelberg Bar Certificate (HAZ); Law tandem for international and German Law students; Marsilius studies: Interdisciplinary seminars.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Four areas of specialisation are fully, or half the time, dedicated to international aspects; all other areas also comprise international aspects. Coursework (50% of the university exam) can be completed during a semester abroad. Seminars together with universities abroad: Krakow, Ferrara, Budapest, Mohyla Academy Kiev, Vienna.

Special features regarding the equipment

Use of visual media on projectors in all rooms. Dedicated negotiation room set up for holding moot courts. Book scanners in the department library (saves on paper and time). WiFi in library, additional computer workstations, legal databases.

International networking, wide variety of research areas, philosophical, historical basic research, international and interdisciplinary approach; Interdisciplinary Marsilius-Kolleg research institute.
