The Bachelor's degree course in Psychology is modular. The degree course is professionally recognised and meets all the requirements of the licensing regulations. We do justice to the term "polyvalent" by integrating modules in occupational and engineering psychology, human resources and organisational psychology as well as educational psychology as required subjects in the field of application in addition to clinical psychology.

The Master's degree programme serves to expand and deepen specialist knowledge in the areas of occupational and engineering psychology, cognitive psychology, personnel and organisational psychology and health psychology (incl. Psychology of Vocational Rehabilitation).

Two of the work units are internationally oriented, so English is the working language and empirical work placements are also conducted in English.

The Institute of Psychology at RWTH Aachen University has the usual laboratory equipment as well as an eye movement laboratory, a VR laboratory and an EEG and EMG laboratory.

Prof. Iring Koch is the coordinator and since 2018 the spokesperson of the German Research Foundation's (DFG) priority programme "Human Multitasking" (priority programme 1772 "Human performance under multiple cognitive task requirements") which was launched in 2015 (2015- 2021/ 2021). He is also involved in the German Research Foundation (DFG) Research Group 2790. He was a member of the DFG Review Board from 2016-2020. Prof. Dr Bettina S. Wiese is currently (since 2024) a member of the DFG Review Board.

The teaching and research focus in the field of health psychological application of the psychology of vocational rehabilitation is a speciality throughout Germany.
