Special features regarding teaching

Well-coordinated system of lectures, exercises, seminars for students pursuing the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Good linkage to digital instruction through close linkage with Centre for Multimedia Instruction and Learning. The university’s Centre for Multimedia Instruction and Learning is managed by the Chair of General Psychology. PC pool with 20 seats, each subject with a specialist laboratory and university outpatient clinic involved or usable in instruction

Special features regarding the equipment

Computer diagnostics laboratory for psychological diagnostics, biopsychological laboratories (cataloguing for central nervous and peripheral activation), medical equipment for implementation of 24-hour biopsychological outpatient monitoring

Special features regarding research activities

Applied research on test development in cooperation with test publishers (Hogrefe, Schuhfried). Professors and lecturers are involved in active research projects (e.g. DFG, BMBF) in basic and applied disciplines. With regard to research institutions in the surrounding area: In the two Max Planck Institutes in Leipzig (for cognition and neuroscience as well as for evolutionary anthropology), students can pursue internships, work towards qualifications (where in accordance with the study regulations) and work as aides.

Support for founders

Collaboration with affiliated ‘Univations’ institutes in the framework of knowledge and technology transfer (including projects to launch a business); Cooperation with the transfer and start-up service at MLU, which helps students, academics and prospective founders realise company start-ups and innovation projects (awarded a transfer prize in the category of ‘Successful regional transfer cooperation’)
