Special features regarding teaching

Teachers at the Institute for Education are involved in teaching to a degree that goes beyond the usual limits. For example, once a year there is a teaching conversation between students, non-professorial teaching staff and professors from the degree course in extracurricular education; all participants can share their experiences there. This has proven particularly successful during the pandemic. Students also have the option of participating in course evaluations by students and, later, by graduates.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Ms. Schepp is a personal and highly capable contact for all students (and lecturers as well) in the Education Department and can help plan a stay abroad during the degree programme.

Special features regarding the equipment

Two excellent and convincing IT people are available to serve as contact persons at FB03. Ms Grunewald is also a competent point of contact for getting to know the library system and searching for literature.

Special features regarding research activities

Currently, one focus is on research in the area of teacher training and working in multi-professional teams, so there are two large structural development projects in this area. The denomination of the professorships is broadly based and deals with Clara Zetkin, migration and education, and with university development.

Support for founders

The Start-Up Centre at JLU offers systematic and individual advice on the ideas and steps involved in starting a business.
