Economics in Göttingen already offers an internationally oriented, research-oriented teaching with a focus on International Economics, Development Economics and Quantitative Methods. Special features regarding research activities

"Responsible innovation", i.e. the idea of an enlightened, responsible innovation activity by economic actors (individuals or organisations), forms the overarching guiding principle of the Faculty of Economics in research and teaching. Economics implements this model in its research projects in the areas of "Governance and Compliance" and "Global Change and Development", with a focus on the conditions of international trade and poverty, health and educational research in developing countries.

Support for founders

Establishment of a founding officer of the faculty as the first point of contact for start-up ideas from the faculty of Economics. Referral to the University of Göttingen’s start up service with its numerous advisory and mentoring services as well as a competition on the topic of start-ups. The SüdniedersachsenInnovationsCampus (SNIC) (Southern Lower Saxony Innovation Campus) coordinates decentralised collaboration and advisory services in the region, organises company excursions and also supports innovations and start-ups as well as increasing the region's attractiveness for skilled workers.
