Special features regarding teaching

Bachelor's degree course: Development and application of innovative teaching concepts such as research-based learning, close integration of subject-specific and non-subject-specific content, early integration into working groups. Lecturers from local research institutions are involved in the teaching programmes. Students may study specialist modules at affiliated or external research institutions. The department participates in several graduate schools and colloquia.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Through a cooperation with the École européenne de chimie, polymères et matériaux de Strasbourg (ECPM) it is possible to obtain a double degree Master of Science (University of Bremen)- Diplôme d'ingénieur - Grade de Master (Université de Strasbourg). For this purpose, in the course of the five-year course of study (B.Sc. + M.Sc.) can be studied for two years at ECPM.

Special features regarding the equipment

The practical training for the students takes place in modern, very well-equipped teaching labs.

Other special features

Family-friendly studies: students are supported in combining studies and family responsibilities wherever possible. For example, we offer: changing tables and toy boxes, alternative dates for work placements, guidance on tailoring the course, setting dates for examinations and work placements at an early stage. Disadvantage compensation for international students: for example, extension of time needed for written examinations in German or examinations in English.
