Special features regarding teaching

The special feature of Chemistry in teaching lies in the individual support of students in all phases of their degree course, in the early introduction to the English language and current research already in the Bachelor's degree course. We offer a variety of opportunities for a stay abroad within the framework of chemistry studies on the basis of cooperation agreements with European and non-European universities. The Master's degree course in particular focuses on practice-based research, which also permits work placements in related engineering sciences or industry.

Special features regarding the international orientation

More than a third of students at Technische Universität Clausthal come from abroad and the Chemistry department is also highly international in nature. Numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities give students the opportunity to complete work placements, project work or other courses abroad. As preparation, lectures and seminars are already offered in English in the Bachelor's degree course. Bachelor's theses, Master's theses, project work and specialisation practicals can be worked on as part of international research projects.

Special features regarding the equipment

The Department of Chemistry at TU Clausthal has a modern equipment pool with research apparatus and large-scale equipment, and students are taught how to use this equipment in the course of their studies. Much of this equipment is available for use during practicals so that students also gain valuable experience in how to use the equipment in practice, including the necessary maintenance work.
