Special features regarding teaching

3-year Bachelor’s degree with a focus on cognitive psychology; Acquisition of basic knowledge in lectures and in-depth application skills in different teaching forms (e.g. work placements, project work); Problem-oriented learning and practically oriented content as preferential teaching methods; Intensive supervision in small groups with a maximum of 15 or 25 participants in seminars and project groups; Additional support from student tutors and mentors; Possible to specialise in the applied fields of Clinical-Educational Psychology and Economic, School and Cognitive Psychology.

Special features regarding the international orientation

In the 5th study semester, students have the opportunity to gain experience abroad in their degree programme; Teach@Tübingen offers foreign doctoral candidates and post-docs the opportunity to teach and research for 6-12 months in Tübingen; Various Erasmus and DAAD exchange programme in teaching, research and academic studies; Participation in the ‘LEAD’ postgraduate school as part of the Excellence Initiative of the German federal government. Research group ‘Modal and Amodal Cognition’ with many international employees, with research activities and international cooperations that also radiate into teaching.

Psycho-acoustic laboratory, colour laboratory, eye-tracking labs (eye motion), tDCS (direct current simulation of the brain), tACS (alternating current simulation of the brain), NIRS (near-infrared spectroscopy) to measure brain activity, response time experiments, EEG labs, hand motion measurement with sensors, audio and video recording with special analysis software, pulse oximetry for measuring the oxygen content in the blood; Test archive, computer diagnostics for free use for student trial projects, teaching rooms equipped with smart boards and technology for hybrid events.
