Support for founders

Our professors actively support start-ups and contribute their expertise. One example of this is TransMIT GmbH, a joint project by universities and Volksbanks in central Hesse, where some 7,000 scientists and 160 staff work. Innovative start-up ideas are encouraged at StartMiUp. Three start-ups have been created recently by the department: VARIOKAN (infrastructure), FISEGO (fire prevention) and Modular One (digitalisation).

Other special features

Professors in the Building and Construction Department (architecture and civil engineering) coordinate with one another at conferences and in monthly meetings, optimise organisational matters and suggest current topics for further development of the curriculum. Our students benefit from the common study model in their education, in mutual understanding and for interdisciplinary student projects. Our departmental student body is involved in social and cultural activities. The harmonious interaction between the two disciplines is unique in Germany.
