Special features regarding the international orientation

The EEI Department offers several Master's degree courses, some of which can be studied entirely in English: Autonomy Technologies, Communications and Multimedia Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies, Medical Technology. In addition, there is a Bachelor's degree programme taught in English (Autonomy Technologies). How students benefit: Numerous international visiting professors; Numerous lectures in English for regular students and exchange students. Intensive guidance option and supervision of a visit abroad for students of all degree courses, regulated credit transfer process.

Special features regarding the equipment

State-of-the-art laboratories such as cleanroom hall, high-voltage hall, photovoltaic test field, audio laboratory, antenna laboratory, medical technology laboratory, control technology laboratory, mobile radio laboratory, EMC laboratory, drives laboratory, metrology laboratory, sensor technology laboratory, real-time simulators (energy supply), embedded wireless laboratory.

Special features regarding research activities

The Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering (EEI) Department receives a great deal of third-party funding (approx. EUR 13 million per year). It benefits from a close connection to Frauenhofer, the Nuremberg Energy Campus and collaborations with various companies. Various grants (Research Training Group, Collaborative Research Centre participations, nationwide research hubs, etc.) are regularly obtained. How students benefit: They are closely involved in current research and development, e.g. through recruitment as student assistants or through Bachelor's/Master's theses and research work placements.

Other special features

The department's Study Service Centre, which is open to students from Monday to Friday, is the central point of contact for questions regarding starting studies, choosing a degree programme, considering a change, etc. Graduates have excellent career opportunities. The department is extremely research-oriented and stands for outstanding teaching.
