The Bachelor's degree programme is characterised particularly by a broad coverage of the subjects of Business Informatics, a solid basic training in Software Engineering, broad choices for individual specialisation, examination of current topics such as digital business models or social media, direct student involvement in projects, various forms of teaching, such as team work and independent work, that encourage reflections and discussions, and through integration of practical content into the degree course.

The Master's degree programme offers students a wide range of options that allow them to develop their own specialisation. Courses in the curriculum are increasingly taught in English. International visiting lecturers are involved in teaching. TU Braunschweig is steadily expanding its international collaboration with universities from abroad.

There is WiFi reception in all rooms as well as in the central areas of the campus. In almost every institute there are workplaces for students, including the necessary software for teaching and research as part of theses. The same applies to access to subject-specific databases and programs, some of which are even available throughout the university (e.g. Stata, SPSS, Siemens Plant Simulation, etc.).

The department is heavily involved in the NFF - the Lower Saxony Research Centre for Vehicle Technology. The vision of sustainable mobility is being pursued as part of this cooperation platform for joint research between industry and science. This is implemented in five scientific research fields (including Mobility Management and Logistics as well as Electromobility) and aims to ensure that mobility needs in urban areas are met on a sustainable basis.
