Special features regarding teaching

The courses are certified by the Swiss Agency for Accreditation (AAQ); There is a very wide range of specialisation options. The good staffing levels provide a very good level of support. Due to its proximity to leading global companies, the location of Stuttgart offers significant advantages. The close association with business practice is supported by the Business Management Promotion Group. The technical orientation of the graduates is a particular strong point and is highly valued by employers even outside the region.

Special features regarding the international orientation

Students have the opportunity to study at around 25 European partner universities or up to 80 partner universities outside Europe as part of the ERASMUS exchange programme. There is also the possibility of completing the EBBS / EMBS programme for obtaining the European certificate with the title "European Bachelor-Level Business Sciences" (EBBS) or "European Master-Level Business Sciences" (EMBS). The institute has its own Erasmus coordinator. International Centre for stays abroad outside Europe.

Special features regarding the equipment

The faculty has its own library and the Business Administration Service Centre with a course manager for study advice and examination support. There are IT workspaces available (CIP cluster, ERP BI lab) and the Business Administration study room for students only. All course and examination management is handled via the C@mpus portal. Learning materials are available on the ILIAS platform. Video recordings of courses as well as video conferences and online events are standard. There is access to literature and specialist databases, e-books and electronic journals.

Special features regarding research activities

The department has a strong direction towards research and publications. Its strengths lie in the conducting of large-scale surveys, the implementation of field and case studies, and experimental research. Research projects are carried out in cooperation with companies and with international research partners. Students can participate in research projects, particularly in the context of project studies and theses. Members of the department are active in international scientific associations and work on a voluntary basis as reviewers for leading specialist journals.

Support for founders

The department has a representative in charge of start-up topics who sits on the advisory committee of the technology transfer initiative, which has been set up by the University of Stuttgart and the State of Baden-Württemberg. The representative advises students who intend to start a business on filing an application for EXIST funding. Thus, the representative is the interface between TTI GmbH and the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences. The courses offered by the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research (ENI) are part of the curriculum in the Master's degree courses.

Other special features

The Adkus graduate association promotes contacts among graduates and helps them to maintain a connection to the University of Stuttgart. Equal opportunities, equality and diversity are put front and centre of work at the University of Stuttgart. The faculty has its own Diversity Officer and a Diversity Committee. Sustainability is an integral part of research and teaching.
