The Institute of Political Science at JLU Giessen is one of the larger political science institutes in Germany, with 9 professorships and over 40 academic and non-academic staff. It covers the entire breadth of content of the sub-areas of political science. The main topics include political theory, history of ideas, gender studies, democracy and democratisation research, politics and economics in the multi-level system, the political-social system of Germany, the comparison of political systems, international relations.
