Special features regarding teaching
The teaching offered at the Institute is characterised by a close link between research and teaching. Beyond the basics of the subject, students have the opportunity for thematic in-depth study in subject areas on which the lecturers themselves conduct research. As a result, the courses offered are close to research and up to date.

Special features regarding research activities
Political science in Greifswald is very strong in research; projects on various topics are constantly taking place at all chairs. Students are involved here as student assistants, in seminars or internships, which enables them to participate in research practice at an early stage. In addition, the research results and methods are dealt with intensively in courses, so that an integration of teaching and research takes place. Due to the small size of the institute, the synergy between research and teaching is particularly guaranteed.

In accordance with the university's personnel development concept, support is provided for the acquisition of research funds and for spin-offs.
Other special features
Conversational culture and a good supervision ratio due to courses with a maximum of 30 students; double degrees in all B.A. courses, which means numerous options; change to B.A.-International possible in the course of studies; professional qualification: 1. the current project on "Internationalisation at home", in which international content and English-language teaching are integrated into the degree course; 2. The event "Occupational fields for political scientists", in which alumni of our institute give practical tips for starting a career twice a semester.
