Annotation

The master's programme in Electrical Engineering aims to specialise in a thematically focused area, which is implemented in the form of a so-called study programme variant. The following degree programmes are offered for the master's programme in Electrical Engineering at the University of Siegen: - Automation and Energy Technology - Communication technology - Microsystem technology - James Clerk Maxwell (Research Master) - Intelligent Energy Systems (binational master: 50% of the studies are at the University of Siegen and 50% at the partner university San Juan / Argentina.) The study programme variants each comprise of 55 ECTS of subject-specific modules, which provide in-depth knowledge and skills in the respective field in the form of lecture courses. In addition, there will be a project group and the master's thesis, so that each study programme variant will comprise about 3/4 of the entire master's programme. A special feature is the course variant 'James Clerk Maxwell'. This will give highly qualified students the opportunity to actively work in a research project at one of the departments of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science while they are still studying. The active and ECTS-scored participation in the research project is complemented by in-depth lectures specifically selected for the subject of the research. This form of master's program is rarely found at German universities except for the University of Siegen,. This will also offer particularly gifted graduates of bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering at other universities a research-related study program, which opens the foundation for a subsequent swift promotion and career perspectives in a scientific environment.
