Admission requirements

Applications for admission to the Master's degree program and the aptitude procedure must be addressed to the Examination Board by 15 July of each year for the winter semester and for the summer semester by 15 January of each year (cut-off dates) and submitted to the management of the Institute of History. Requirements for admission to the Master's programme are: 1. \tfirst professionally qualifying university degree or equivalent with at least six semesters of standard duration (180 credits) or comparable degree in History or in a humanities, cultural or social science subject with an average grade of 'good' (2.50) or better\; For foreign degrees, the conversion is based on the modified Bavarian formula, 2. \tFurthermore, proof of the qualification specific to the course of study, which is provided by successful passing of an aptitude procedure according to the Annex to the Examination and Study Regulations 3.\tApplicants who did not obtain their higher education entrance qualification or first degree at a German-speaking institution must provide proof of command of German at the level of the German Language Test for Admission to Higher Education for International Applicants (DSH-2) or an equivalent German language certificate.
