Annotation

"Chamber capability" is crucial: Only those who are members of a German Chamber of Architects may hold the title of "Architect" and are entitled to submit building templates, for example. Therefore good to know: Anyone who has successfully completed the Master's degree programme in Architecture at the University of Kassel is in any case chamber- and therefore future-proof. Not only are graduates free to work in the architectural office, but they also have the necessary basis for a scientific career or work in the public building authorities. After completing their Bachelor's degree course, the students specialise their knowledge of architecture by specialising in current instruments, methods and techniques of architecture and dealing extensively with planning, building theory and urban development. With professional skills and interdisciplinary knowledge, the Master's degree programme in Architecture enables graduates to conduct their own scientific research and successfully enter the profession. Students at the University of Kassel are taught in so-called specialised Master's degree courses, which impart planning and design competence in complex contexts in certain fields and provide for an individual profile of the graduates. In the Master's degree programme in Architecture, students can orient themselves in different directions: "Urban planning" (together with urban and landscape planners), "Design Research" (building construction, digital development techniques, architectural and artistic concepts), "Environmentally-aware planning and building" and "Building management/ project development" (currently dormant). Many modules complement the differentiated range of courses. Part-time study is quite possible due to the course of study in this degree course. Upon request, you can register for part-time studies in accordance with Section 19 (2) Hesse Higher Education Act (HessHG). The specific provisions for part-time studies will then apply. Counselling by the subject-specific student advice service is recommended.
