Application deadlines: See the programme website Please take note of the information regarding language proficiency! The number of credit points to be acquired in total amounts to 120, of which 30 are provided by the Master's thesis. Modules cover the Politics, History and Society of North America as well as the Languages, Literatures and Cultures of North America and inter-disciplinary work.

Admission requirements

1. A first German or international degree (BA or comparable). 2. Language skills: Two of the following foreign languages: English, French, Spanish. One of these at level C1 of the Common European Reference Framework\; proof to be provided at enrolment. A further language at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference, proof of which can be submitted up to the end of the first year of study. In justified exceptional cases due to relevance to research, an application can be submitted for the second foreign language as defined in Paragraph 2 to be replaced by another. Applicants from a non-German speaking country must provide proof of German proficiency to level DSH 2 and/or TestDaF 4 (in all four areas).
