Target group

Literature cannot be comprehended in terms of national categories. Goethe already expressed in his concept of world literature the fact that literature has always transcended national, linguistic and cultural borders and epochs. Since Goethe, the idea of ​​world literature has become increasingly important, right down to the development of the concept of intertextuality, according to radicalised form of which (Kristeva, Barthes, Derrida) literature as such can be regarded as an infinite common textual fabric. Literature: How does a literary text differ from the language of everyday life and other arts? What theories and methods can be used to describe its processes of production and reception? Literature: Epochs and styles, myths and their creative adaptation, genres and their change throughout history, cross-cultural processes and interliterary references, cultural contacts and cultural conflicts in literature, theories of translation. Literature and other media: The relationship between image and text, media theories, remembering and forgetting in literature, its relationship with visual arts, music, theatre and film. Internationalism of literature: Continuities and discontinuities of literature, tradition and reception, intertextuality, mythology and myth reception, transnational genres and epochs, questions of cultural memory. Cross-cultural communication: Modalities of the dialogue between cultures, cultural transfer, alterity research, difference research, cross-cultural hermeneutics, pluricultural society, migration research, literary translation/translation theories. Aesthetic theories and poetics of modernity: Mimesis, poiesis, semiosis.
