Annotation

Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT) are important topics in Automation Technology. The development in these areas is progressing very quickly. It is important to Germany's industry to remain in a leading position. Automation technology enables developments such as the creation of new production sites that meet customer needs in a flexible way and that are safe in case of a failure. Connectivity via the internet as well as data security are vital. Female and male engineers with an electrotechnical background are part of one of the most popular professional groups in demand in Germany. Salaries and future career opportunities could not be better at present. Our students will participate in a multilateral course of studies. The programme combines the fields of electrical engineering, computer science and measuring and control technology. This course has a duration of 7 semesters including one practical study semester. The study course combines small study groups, individual support, intensive practice orientation and close contacts to the regional industry. The first year is taught in English and combined with intensive German language courses. From the third semester onwards the language of instruction is German only. It is possible to commence study without sufficient knowledge of German. This course can also be taken if the “German Language Test for Admission to Higher Education for Foreign Students” (DSH) has not yet been taken. This is made possible by German courses integrated in the regular study plan. Mandatory German courses take place both during the lecture-free period and during the semester. Application requirements: a university/higher education entrance qualification is required. Admission is based on the applicant's academic and professional performance in the subject concerned. Alternatively, good SAT/ACT scores in Mathematics and/or Physics will be acknowledged. Language requirements: TOEFL 80 points (IBT) or IELTS>6.0, unless English is the native language or official language of instruction. Studies start at the beginning of September before the first semester with a three-week language, culture and orientation programme. In the following semesters, language instruction is an integral part of the degree programme. In addition, all-day language classes in three-week sessions take place during the semester breaks. Support for international students: welcome event, buddy programme, tutors, accompanying programme, specialist counselling, cultural and linguistic preparation, pick-up service, support with student housing and visa matters.
