Description

Description

We are looking forward, to fill a position, for the Research Group Machine Learned Models for Engineers (ML4E) at the Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISSE) at the TU Clausthal.

Doctoral Researcher in the field of Large Language Models (LLM) for Software Engineering.

(TV-L E 13, 100%, Location: Clausthal-Zellerfeld)

 (Depending on your qualifications E 13 TV-L)

The position is for the duration of three years in full-time. Part time is negotiable.

Current advancements in AI, suggest that intelligent, ML (Machine Learning)/ DL (Deep Learning) based Systems will be assisting humans within their working environment. Large Language Models (LLMs) based on Transformer architectures have shown that this development holds significant potential for software development. Models like GPT-4 or Cortex (GitHub Copilot) already impressively enable code completion and even the generation of entire program parts. We are considering how these models can be effectively integrated into the software development process.

With this in mind, we have decided to set up a new group that will focus on leveraging this potential. This group is being set up in cooperation with our partner Siemens AG.

Here we want to address the question of how these models can be effectively integrated into software development.

Among other things, we wanted to investigate:

  • How can the integration into the development process be achieved?
  • How can the quality of the systems generated in this way be ensured?
  • How can the consistency of generated code with other development artifacts be ensured?

Your profile:

  • Background in Software Engineering
  • Academic degree (Master, Diplom) in the field of Computer Sciences, Informatics (of any kind), mathematics, physics or similar
  • Wish to conduct research and working on your PhD
  • Experience in conceptualizing and implementing AI Systems
  • Interest in the above-mentioned domains
