Foreign language center and courses

There is a foreign language centre. Languages offered: English, French, German as a Foreign Language, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Swedish, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Latin, Turkish, Arabic, Danish, German as a Second Language, German Sign Language, Finnish, Korean, Kurdish, Dutch, Norwegian, Vietnamese. Heritage Languages: Arabic, Turkish, Polish, Russian; Writing advice, intercultural training. Students may take part in language courses & tandems as part of the UNITE! alliance (University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering), upon agreement in the Rhine-Main University Association (RMU).

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. As a student of the TU Darmstadt you can also participate in the university sports programmes of other universities in Hesse. The terms of participation have to be agreed with the respective higher education institution. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. On the TU site you will find the climbing forest Darmstadt, the DAV (German Climbing Association) climbing hall and the Unifit gym, the disc golf course, the listed university stadium with outdoor pool (free access for students), artificial grass pitch, athletics and cross-training facilities, beach volleyball and basketball courts. Test and taste programmes for international students, excursions, active breaks with activity bike, student health management and much more... Sports: Our university sports centre offers you a varied sports programme focusing on fun and variety: From acrobatics to hurling, mountain biking to quadball, roundnet to Zumba, excursions to the sea or the snow. There is something for everyone here!
