Special features regarding the library

Locations: The library is a central attraction in the heart of the campus, opposite the canteen and the largest lecture hall.; Stock: Browse locally or remotely in one of our >900,000 e-books, read articles from >25,000 e-journals and use our extensive database range. You can find >400,000 printed volumes on site.; Services: Freshly rebuilt in 2024, the University Library offers more than 800 reading places. Quiet areas, but also areas for exchange invite you to linger. In addition to six conference rooms, there are eight (small)group work rooms. Around 60 bookable individual workspaces (carrels) allow for secluded learning. A computer pool allows access to software required during your studies, and extensive printing options are available throughout the building. A parent-child room with a nursing corner is available. Regular opening times: Mon-Fri 8am-9pm, Sat 10am-6pm; Special opening times during the examination period

Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. As a student, you are entitled to participate in all universities in Saxony-Anhalt and a large number of universities in Germany. Participation is subject to fees. The OVGU offers you intensive courses in trend, winter and summer sports; Possible to gain a lifeguard qualification, first-aid training, surfing certification, martial arts belts; Support in competitive sports; hosting of university events and championships; Special attention paid to sports for employees and health sports; Gym; Posting to and financial support for competitions and championships.
