Special features regarding university sports
The university offers its own sports programme. Possibility to participate in university championships as well as competitions (German and Saxony University Championships) of the General German University Sports Federation (adh) or the Saxony State Conference on University Sports (LHS). Participation in the general university sports programmes of other universities is subject to their respective regulations. Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. One special feature of the sports programme at Chemnitz University of Technology is the university's gym. There are also attractive programmes through numerous partnerships with external providers/partners such as a climbing centre, Chemnitz bouldering lounge, Club Nautique Leipzig (sailing), Golf Club Wasserschloss Klaffenbach, ice rink (curling), surf camp, Chemnitz shooting range and much more. The promotion of students’ health has also become more of a focal point of Chemnitz University of Technology in recent years, among other things on the basis of the initiative “Bewegt studieren - studieren bewegt” (study moving - studying moves) 1./ 2.0. Sports: Aerobics, acrobatics, MBSR, badminton, beach volleyball, curling, football, handball, juggling, unicycle, dodgeball, athletics, climbing, bouldering, tennis, football tennis, fitness classes, dancing, sailing, basketball, cycling, running, jumping rope and much more.
