Special features regarding teaching

Small groups & proximity to dedicated professors enable a personal atmosphere; interesting laboratory tests and practical courses; application-related projects show industrial working methods; individual focus in the 6th and 7th semester; diverse range of languages; international orientation due to English language courses and opportunities / compulsory (ITV) of a semester abroad; attractive choice of electives; excursions / guest lectures; cooperation with regional industry; possibility of a Master's degree in WI at the TH-AB.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The WI department provides stays abroad as part of internships at partner universities without exceeding the standard period of study (7 semesters). In the ITV course, a stay abroad is compulsory. Our students learn key qualifications such as language skills, high flexibility and intercultural competence. Comprehensive advice and support on all questions regarding stays abroad provided by the International Office team as well as by professors and international representative by way of recommendations, contacts and information on scholarships.

Special features regarding the equipment

All lecture theatres are equipped with the latest multimedia technology. The laboratories, with their state-of-the-art technical equipment, provide the foundation for up-to-date, practically-oriented engineering training. Modern technology that meets industry standards makes it possible to reinforce the knowledge acquired in lectures in all phases of the degree course. In addition, the laboratories serve as the basis for many of the university's research and development projects and thus offer students many possibilities for Bachelor's and Master's theses.

Special features regarding research and development

Centre for Scientific Services and Transfer (ZeWiS) in the Industrie Center Obernburg as an overall concept to promote applied research / knowledge transfer; contact point for research contracts and scientific services; subjects: Automotive, Design Science Research, Energy Efficiency, Intelligent Engineering laboratories with diverse focal points and the best equipment as the basis for numerous research and development activities and practical training; centre for Natural Sciences as a central facility for experimental science teaching

Support for founders

Company start-ups are supported centrally by the Career Service at the Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences. It offers extensive services for entrepreneurs by way of start-up consulting as well as contacts with initiatives and founders' competitions

Other special features

In addition to the wide range of language options, students also have the opportunity to prepare for the globalised and internationalised job market with stays abroad. Collaboration between European and non-European universities offers the possibility of studying abroad to gather experience whilst at university. The "Hochschule-Dual" model is a degree course with an intensive practical component. The International Technical Sales Management degree course is also closely linked to the European Sales Engineering Courses.
