Special features regarding teaching

Broad coverage of topics in the areas of Economics, Engineering and Computer Science; A lot of freedom of choice for individual specialisation; Direct student involvement in projects; Variety of teaching methods; Team work; Independent work; Reflection and discussion are encouraged; Cooperation with industry is integrated into the programme and teaching methods

Special features regarding the international orientation

An increasing number of the courses in the curriculum are taught in English, in part by international visiting lecturers, ensuring that other research areas are incorporated into teaching. In addition, the TU Braunschweig expands its international partnerships with other universities.

Exchange universities for stay abroads

State University of Economics St. Petersburg, Russland; University of Nebraska, Omaha, USA; University of Rhode Island, USA; ETSID, Spanien; LUT, Finnland; Technical University of Sofia, Bulgarien; Tongji, China.

Special features regarding the equipment

WiFi reception is possible in all rooms as well as on the central areas of the campus. In almost every institute there are workplaces for students, including the necessary software for teaching and research as part of theses. The same applies to access to subject-specific databases, some of which are even available throughout the university (e.g. Stata, SPSS, Siemens Plant Simulation, etc.).

Special features regarding research activities

The department is heavily involved in the NFF - the Lower Saxony Research Centre for Vehicle Technology. The vision of sustainable mobility is being pursued as part of this cooperation platform for joint research between industry and science. This is implemented in five scientific research fields (including Mobility Management and Logistics as well as Electromobility) and aims to ensure that mobility needs in urban areas are met on a sustainable basis.

Support for founders

As part of the TU-wide services of the Office for Knowledge and Transfer, students can receive support in their own start-ups.

Other special features

Studying at the TU Braunschweig has all the advantages of studying at a "medium-sized" technical university. We have sufficient areas of specialisation, good practical integration, many high-ranking research projects, a good student organisation as well as a positive learning environment. At the same time, however, every single student is taken seriously and is looked after well. We value our campus life, we promote independent work as well as teamwork and are pleased if students take a lively but also critical role in shaping our life together at the TU Braunschweig.
