Special features regarding teaching

Special features of sports economics and sports technology are interdisciplinarity (sports/business administration/law or sports/engineering), the ability to innovate and a pronounced networking concept. In sports economics, references to sports management are taken into account. A work placement is compulsory, and it is often spent abroad. Experts from industry are involved in sports technology. In the sports Teaching Qualification, courses close to the professional field (teaching exercises for school classes, project seminars, intern ship semesters) are particularly important. Many students spend a semester abroad.

Special features regarding the equipment

Triple gymnasium, gymnasium, weight and fitness room, track and field facilities, four grass courts, six tennis courts, all-weather court, two beach volleyball courts, body weight station are available. Exercise science and sports medicine laboratories (spiroergometry, BIA, blood volume determination, biomechanical measurements such as 3D kinematography, EMG, IMU, ACC, motion capturing, force measurement) can be used for courses and theses. In addition, business and legal databases as well as a laboratory for experiments are available.

Sport facilities

Partner university of elite sports (DOSB), basketball performance base; elite athletes enjoy special status in accordance with the university admission statutes and individual support (on the part of the sports counselling service and the examination committees).

Special features regarding research activities

The results of research from sports science, business administration and law are incorporated into appropriate courses, e.g. evaluation of a model for talent identification, technique training for the development of playing ability in game sports. Core Fields: Talent research, public health & sport, occupational health management, medical anti-doping research, sports didactics and pedagogy, sports governance, event & fan research, sports services, sports consumer behaviour, sports sponsorship law. Sustainability, 3D printing, constructive lightweight construction, innovative applications in the field of sports technology.
