Special features regarding teaching

Interdisciplinary structure of the model degree course in four study sections; learning spiral; organ-centred teaching subjects; practical relevance from the 1st semester onwards; interlocking of pre-clinic and clinic; from the 3rd semester onwards: interdisciplinary system blocks with clinical examination courses/ patient contact; from the 7th semester onwards: block practicals in all clinical disciplines. Optional free semester eighth/ninth semester for doctoral thesis; period of study abroad or clinical traineeships

Arrangements of special exercises at the department

Aachener interdisziplinäre Trainingszentrum für medizinische Ausbildung (AIXTRA): responsible for clinical training, innovative and modern didactic methods and technical possibilities, skills such as blood sampling, treatment of injuries, simulators for resuscitation, etc. that influence patient safety. Communicative and social skills are also taught according to the principle of learning-training-optimising. For this purpose, specially equipped rooms with modern simulation and training models are available on 3 floors in the new CT² Centre for Teaching and Training.
