Special features regarding teaching

Increased offer of accompanying small group lessons; exam apprenticeship for first semesters and higher semesters (3rd / 4th semester), concept small group - 5 for all cases; intermediate examination during studies; performance acquisition in the main course possible in parallel to the basic course; expansion of the range of seminars in the university focus area; practice-oriented teaching by the judicial laboratory; E-learning and blackboard offers; structured internships; excellence courses for the best students for individual support; evaluation of the lecture programme.

Special features regarding the international orientation

The Centre for International Affairs (ZfI) bundles support for technical languages and stays abroad. It offers a variety of specialist legal courses in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Turkish. In addition, students can obtain a certificate in "Anglo-American Law & Language". The ZfI supports the preparation and implementation of a degree course abroad at one of the 39 partner universities and advises on the possibility of internships abroad. It is involved in looking after the faculty's English-language Moot Courts (Jessup-Móot-Court-Team).

Special features regarding the equipment

Web-based news portals, chair websites, campus-wide WiFi, more than 100,000 network connections with 10 GBit Backbone, VPN, Moodle, smart boards, all classrooms with multimedia. Barrier-free access to the university inside the building. Faculty's own server (Web, Ilias) independent, largest department library (250,000 Bd.e) with 30 PCs (Internet, Office), 450 network connections, WiFi, 14 subject-specific databases across the campus, including juris + Beck, setting up an eBib (over 600 e-journals, 7 eBook portals), own meta search, virtual offers, eLearning synergies, as in Bib rooms also Wiwi-und SoWi library.

Special features regarding research activities

The faculty is very well networked both internationally and in a inter-disciplinary way. The broad spectrum of important topics includes: Law and Digitalisation; Criminal / Criminological Research on International Criminal Law (DFG), Flight, Right-wing Extremism (junior research group) and Police Violence (DFG); research in the field of German and European private, work and Commercial Law; Experimental Legal Philosophy (DFG), Constitutional Theory, Development Cooperation, Human Rights, European Integration, Tax, Public Economic, Gambling, Energy, Education and Health Law.

Other special features

Court laboratory with permanently installed conference microphones, 4 parallel video cameras and dictation machines; wide range of key qualifications: Rhetoric courses, mediation, criminological detention, voice and speech training etc .; own e-team / eLearning; that advises, guides and accompanies students and lecturers on all topics related to "eLearning". Regular information events for the first examination and for the judicial service training. Own exam preparation programme "Rubrum". Participation in the Vis Arbitral Moot, BAG-, Hans Soldan- and Jessup Moot Court; Forensic medicine / autopsy.
