Special features regarding research activities

The faculty of Mathematics is one of the strongest in Germany with regard to research, various research areas are represented, with special emphasis on Cryptology/IT Security, Mathematical Statistics, Stochastics, Symplectic structures; excellence cluster and participation in several research associations (e.g. Collaborative Research Centres); students are therefore quickly introduced to topical research areas. By establishing professorships and junior professorships on current topics, the research spectrum of the faculty is expanded and further developed.
