Support for founders

The Institute of Physics explicitly supports start-ups. Start-up teams, which are supported by the BMWi's Exist programme, for example, use office and laboratory space at the Institute. Companies already founded out of the Institute of Physics also use laboratory space on the basis of corresponding contracts.

The institute runs its own school student lab for different target groups: School pupil society of HU Physics (promotion of gifted students), regular projects for school classes, teacher training; further education of teachers, public outreach ("Long Night of the Sciences"); Club Lise Network, the mentoring programme for students with a migration background for the promotion of Natural Science and Engineering interests at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin; many student assistantships in all areas of the institute
