Special features regarding teaching

Lessons with a maximum of 36 students per group; language courses in small groups (on average about 10 to 12 people); additional offers in the form of seminars (Studium Generale with around 60 topics per quarter); two foreign languages mandatory (English and Spanish or French), optionally Russian, Chinese, Japanese.

The international orientation takes place centrally via the administrative level of the university.

Special features regarding the equipment

Use of state-of-the-art media in teaching (smartboards), campus-wide WiFi availability. The university including the computer rooms is available to students 24/7 via an electronic access control system. Laboratories, with manufacturing technology equipment and with various electronic building blocks are available to the students. Various simulation and modelling software packages can be downloaded for free.

Special features regarding research and development

Practical research projects with companies; participation of students in research projects and publications is possible; organisation of conferences and specialist meetings by the FB.

Support for founders

The compulsory modules in Industrial Engineering form the basis for the later founding of a company. In the compulsory elective area, the topic of Entrepreneurship is dealt with in a more explicit manner and is also supported by the Entrepreneurs Club unit.

Other special features

International Students Office for counselling and support (outgoing + incoming, ERASMUS programme), large library with database access (EBSCO, WISO, Statista, etc.), employment opportunities for graduates as academic staff and support for the cooperative procedure for admission as a doctoral candidate.
