Special features regarding teaching

Range of services offered the mathematics learning centre; Project day in Mechanical Engineering: Students present their interdisciplinary projects for other students. Participation in the Formula Student macro project, with options for curricular credit. Interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary rendering seminar in the Bachelor´s degree course in automotive engineering.

Macro project ‘Motorsport’; Participation in the Erasmus programme; Cooperation with MGSU Moscow; Cooperation with Brazil; ‘German-Chinese Double Degree CDHAW’; Participation in international programmes of the DAAD and the EU (exchanges for students and lecturers)

Special features regarding the equipment

Modern and well-equipped special laboratories: Manufacturing Engineering, Joint Technology and Assembly, IT Laboratory for Mechanical Engineering and Vehicle Engineering, Mechatronics, Measurement Technology, Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics, Materials Engineering. As FB2 has medium-term investment planning, the laboratories are always up-to-date and innovative.

Special features regarding research and development

Teaching staff in the faculty attach great importance to the ideas of research-based teaching and teaching-based research. They provide a good example of this. FB2 supports the overarching aims of the HTW: ‘Gaining profile – strengthening research’. FB2 strives to significantly increase its ability to perform and innovate in terms of research & development and strives to significantly increase research activities in the medium to long term, in particular with regard to the amount of third-party funds raised.
