Media Informatics links practical informatics with the creative design of digital media. 'Besides the principles of Informatics, students primarily learn the practical uses of IT: Graphics and Image Processing, Audio and Video Editing and Multimedia Presentation. Of all the IT degree courses, this offers the greatest creative potential.' (IT manual for informatics specialists, 2013) Media informatics specialists programme and design their own computer games, films, 3D animations, Internet web pages and apps for mobile devices at our University. Due to the practical orientation of the training, the career prospects for students completing a course in Media Informatics at a University of Applied Sciences are particularly good.
