In the Dependable and Autonomous Cyber-physical Systems (DACS) research group at the Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISSE) of the Clausthal University of Technology (TU Clausthal), a position as an

Academic Researcher (m/f/d)

in the field of Dependable (Safe and Secure) Autonomous Driving

(in the case of fulfilled personal requirements classified at the E 13 TV-L Level)

is available immediately. The position is initially to be filled on a full-time basis for a duration of up to 3 years, with the possibility of part-time work. The position also offers the opportunity for a doctoral study (PhD) at TU Clausthal.

The Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISSE) is one of the two computer science institutes at TU Clausthal, hosting several research groups. For more information about the ISSE Institute, please visit our website: https://www.isse.tu-clausthal.de/.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Research and development in the aforementioned field.
  • Design and implementation of prototypes.
  • Publication of your results at national and international conferences.
  • Assistance in preparing lectures, supervising exercises, and mentoring students in our B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs.

Your profile:

  • Excellent/Good academic record (M.Sc.) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or similar, with an interest in academic work within the scope of a doctoral program.
  • Independent, structured work approach, quick comprehension, and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new concepts.
  • Enjoyment of scientific work.
  • Good programming skills.
  • Proficient English language skills (at least equivalent to B2).

Desirable qualifications include knowledge in the following areas:

  • Experience and/or prior knowledge in one of the following areas: Formal Methods, Testing, Runtime Monitoring, or Diagnosis, with a desire to integrate these into contemporary safety processes.
  • Knowledge of software development methods (especially agile methods) and modeling of system structures and behavior.
  • Experience with common software development tools, such as Git, IDEs, CI/CD, and Issue Tracking.
  • Good German language skills (at least B2).

The remuneration is based on the Collective Agreement for Public Service (TV-L). At the end of each year, TV-L provides for a special annual payment. In addition, we offer a supplementary pension plan (VBL).
